Company's
Intelligent Language Processing Technology to Serve DoD Interests
Amherst, NY--July
8, 2002 -- Microlanguage (www.microlanguage.com), whose next generation
intelligent language processing technology enriches knowledge management
applications and portal information services, announced today that
it has received a contract from Raytheon Corporation's Joint Intelligence,
Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group to license its Thematix
technology in support of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) interests.
Microlanguage's
Thematix technology enables OEMs and systems integrators to deliver
stronger knowledge management and concept extraction tools, and
portal information providers to deliver stronger information services
to Global 2000 enterprise customers and government agencies. Under
the terms of the contract, Microlanguage will license its Thematix
technology to Raytheon, and will develop prototype lexicons or grammarbases.
"Microlanguage
is very pleased that its Thematix technology will be supporting
efforts to maintain our country's national defense," said Robert
Fritzinger, Microlanguage President and CEO. "We are confident
that Thematix technology will demonstrate improved recall and precision
in the host content retrieval system, and in its ability to create
actionable information. We are also excited about the prospects
of this effort leading to larger scale implementations of our technology."
The contract
with Raytheon, which will include Microlanguage providing on-site
engineering and systems integration support, is expected to run
through FY-03.
Microlanguage
delivers its intelligent language processing technology in the form
of middleware that is a subset of knowledge management, customer
