Robert Fritzinger founded Microlanguage LLC to acquire, develop,
and commercialize the assets of Bard NLP. Fritzinger, former co-founder
of Voice Technologies Group, a local high-technology startup which
was sold to Intel in June 2000, examined Mr. Grom's technology
and immediately recognized its commercial potential and value.
- May 1999
Brian Grom founded Bard NLP, a New York S Corporation, to develop
a Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology that would overcome
many of the challenges inherent in the language we speak. Mr.
Grom invented a means by which software can derive meaning from
text. He realized his creation was very valuable, but wisely sought
proven business veterans to maximize the potential of his invention.
Microlanguage's
next-generation, intelligent language processing technology, Thematix,
is aimed at applications that demand highly precise filtering of
unstructured digital information. Two components work together to
create Thematix technology:
- The parsing
engine breaks incoming information into its constituent parts,
such as words and punctuation, so they can each be examined individually.
- The Grammarbase
is a repository of knowledge that gives further instructions to
the parsing engine. The analyst knowledge of what information
is relevant and how to use it is programmed into a grammarbase.
These modular,
scalable open architecture components are specifically designed
for ease of systems integration. And with Microlanguage's strategic
partnerships, it doesn't matter whether the data is text, voice,
multimedia, etc.; the solution will derive meaning regardless of
the data form.
Differentiators
Thematix extracts
relevant information from structured and unstructured data, tags
it as such, and enables the knowledge management application with
which it is integrated to distribute it in an actionable form.
